Is Runkle's Twin Sister the Key to his Psychopathic Tendencies?

Sometime around the age of eight, Dean Runkle's twin sister, Diane, died. The circumstances of this sudden death remain a mystery. Family claim that Diane died from polio. But I have combed the archives in Ashland, Huron, and surrounding counties and can find no evidence of this, let alone any death certificate for Diane, herself.

What is known is that Runkle's mother blamed Dean and often told the young boy that it should have been him and not his sister who died.

The more I think about this case the more I have come to believe that this event may explain everything.

Psychopaths, like serial killer Ted Bundy, are very organized, charming men on the outside. But inside, they are extreme narcissists, constantly trying to gain respect and admiration from peers. Many psychopaths have something else in common with serial killers: something very traumatic occurred in their childhood. This trauma basically freezes their development at that age. This is called "arrested development" and it plays a part in some serial killer's methodology. For example, several serial killers appear to have been recreating some traumatic event from their childhood; their victims would take the place of their mother or sister or friend. Perhaps their mother beat them and hurt them somehow. Only, this time around, THEY have control. And they murder their victim in place of their mother. Other times, they are recreating some trauma--a rape, some sort of torture--in an effort to better understand what happened to them when they were young.

Psychopaths with identify with children. They understand them because they, in a way, have forever remained on their level. This is one reason the majority of psychopaths have also sexually abused children.

Dean Runkle exhibits many signs of psychopathy. He shows narcissistic needs-- showcasing his classroom on local TV, playing ragtime piano for rooms full of Cedar Point goers, running for Teacher of the Year. He relates to children-- he was well known to "befriend" certain students, driving them places alone, taking them to Wendy's for treats. And we know he attempted to have a sexual relationship with at least one student, whom he sent love letters to.

Now take all this and look again at the death of his twin. He grew up with a mother who hated him for this and told him so. What confusion that must have caused. What rage.

Would he seek to better understand this with a surrogate to take the place of his sister? To "play it out" as many psychopaths do?

I sent you a copy of Diane's death certificate. You posted it on your blod April 03, 2009.

So if Diane was the golden child, it would make sense he would be attracted to girls around her age to exert force over to show how much more powerful he is than the favored sister.

PS: You should write the Lorain Coroner to get a copy of her autopsy.

Found Diane's Death Notice:
Plain Dealer 9-14-1950

The child was taken to the hospital Saturday with what was thought to be virus pneumonia, relatives reported. Diane's twin brother and three other children also survive.

New London, Oh Sept 13 - The second polio death in the last five days occurred yesterday when Diane Ruth Runkle 6, daughter of Mr and Mrs Runkle died at Elyria Memorial Hospital after an illness of three days. Private services will be held in the Sackett-Eastman funeral home at 2pm Thursday.
A twin brother Ronnie, two other brothers Dean and Darryl and a sister Gay, also survive. Two other polio cases have been reported here but neither of them is said to be serious. Both children.

Interesting, this article says Dean is NOT her twin, but another brother Ronnie was.

I think you are wrong about Runkle. I saw this flyer years ago and contacted the Police in Ohio because by the composite I felt I may know the killer. The person I reported turned 40 years old the week Amy disappeared. He disappeared during that week and no one could find him (we lived in Michigan during the time). He went through some sort of emotional breakdown when he returned. I showed the composite to his teenage son and he turned white as a ghost. Later, the son confronted him and as a result I was confronted by the person of interest who DENIED ever having been to that part of Ohio in his life (even though he had taken me there several times, to Cedar Point). His son was convinced that it was his father in that composite drawing. Six months later the son was found shot to death in the basement of their home. The person of interest had left his work early that day and said "I don't know why I just had a feeling something was wrong." Supposedly it was a suicide and the person rushed to have his son cremated within 48 hours of his death. Since then this person no longer speaks to me (even though we were once very close, if you haven't guessed he is a close relative). There are many other facts that line up with this case and make him a viable person of interest but when I reported it to the police in charge of the case the officer got agitated and said "do you know that I have 1800 leads on this case?" I know for a fact this person was NEVER examined as a suspect being that he lived in another state and they had already focused on Runkle (for no other reason than he resembles the composite). Yet my person of interest does not just RESEMBLE the composite, the composite is a DEAD RINGER for him and he completely fits the profile.
