Assault in Bay Village

I'm going to post this because I've gotten a lot of emails about it. No one is saying it's connected to Amy's case in any way, but it's worth sharing in hopes that this guy will be caught.

A teenage girl was assaulted in Bay Village last week, near Normady. The important details are given above.

Anyone with information should contact Detective Kevin Krolkosky at 440-899-3485.

Pre-Order The Serial Killer's Apprentice

You can now pre-order The Serial Killer's Apprentice at your local book store or at Amazon.com

Amazon is selling it for $10.17, so it's signifantly cheaper than Amy: My Search for Her Killer.

The book contains 13 unsolved true crime stories from NE Ohio, including a new chapter on the Amy investigation.

I'll be posting an excerpt from that chapter here, in the near future.

Goodbye Larry Bess

Larry Bess will die in prison.

As you may recall, Bess was charged with raping a young girl in North Royalton in 1989. A week after Amy was abducted, Bess disappeared.

The FBI finally caught up with Bess last year. When they found him, he was living in Athens, Georgia, under the name "Norman Weatherby". He was brought back to Cuyahoga County where he was sentenced last month to 38 years to life behind bars. Since Bess is 68, and looking none to healthy these days, that means he'll spend whatever remains of his life inside the Madison Correctional Institution.

While I do not believe Bess is Amy's abductor (though he at least merits a DNA check, I think) it's nice to know cold cases as old as Amy's are being solved in Cuyahoga County.

More updates to come in the near future.
